Guess who's coming to the fund-raiser? The would-be governor of California, Tom Bradley.
Democrat Bradley picked up a tidy $31,000 for his campaign recently from two quick fund-raisers in an out-of-state center of support: Philadelphia. The mayor of Los Angeles reportedly slipped quietly into and out of the City of Brotherly Love in roughly four hours. Bradley is said to have scheduled similar trips outside California to other cities where persons are interested in supporting his bid to become the first elected black governor in the United States.
His trip raised a few eyebrows among political observers in Pennsylvania, which has an important gubernatorial race of its own. The Democratic candidate there is trying to fatten a relatively small war chest, and some wonder if Bradley's contributions came at the Pennsylvania Democrat's expense.
