Austrian asks that Poland be urged to revive union

Austrian Social Democratic Chancellor Bruno Kreisky called on Western socialists, Social Democrats, and trade unions to appeal to Poland to restore the rights of the suspended free trade union Solidarity, Monitor correspondent Elizabeth Pond writes.

Moscow could be interested in this because of its contribution to peace in Europe, Mr. Kreisky told the West German Social Democratic convention in Munich April 21.
