Begin regime defeats no-confidence vote

Prime Minister Menachem Begin easily defeated a parliamentary attempt Wednesday to bring down his government because of his confrontation with President Reagan over US policy toward Israel.

A no-confidence motion brought by the opposition was defeated by a vote of 57 to 47, assuring Begin of support for his handling of US-Israeli relations.

The no-confidence motions were the second against Begin's government this month.
