103 Polish intellectuals are reported arrested
| Vienna
Austrian radio said Wednesday that 103 Polish intellectuals have been arrested in Warsaw and Krakow since martial law was declared. The list includes leading dissidents Jacek Kuron and Adam Michnik, almost all Solidarity advisers, and many academics, writers, journalists, and actors.
Jacek Kuron and Adam Michnik founded the Committee for Social Self-Defense (KOR) after worker unrest in 1976. The leaders of KOR, which was disbanded last September, were leading Solidarity advisers.
