US will begin radio broadcasts to Cuba

Accusing the Castro government of lying to its citizens for the past 20 years , the Reagan administration announced the creation of a US-sponsored radio station "to tell the truth to the Cuban people."

National security adviser Richard Allen said "Radio Marti" will begin broadcasting to Cuba next January. The $10 million for first-year operating expenses is subject to congressional approval.
