Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

In a Sept. 10 article on the resignation of Vernon Jordan as president of the National Urban League, the Monitor inadvertently said that Mr. Jordan and the late Roy Wilkins "decried nonviolence." Both men, of course, were longtime advocates of nonviolence in the civil rights movement. The Monitor regrets the error.
