Quiet morning

One underused and isolated sense in me says all is silent, nothing speaks. Yet sky-color crashes cymbals in my mind; sunrays meld with rainbows of orchestration; from each green shoot emerging from the earth, and from new leaves of every old-young tree, a trumpet's high, pure notes ascend, triumphant . . . And morning marches, signaled into m otion.
