Northern Ireland towns hit by an IRA blitz

Five explosions in towns throughout Northern Ireland and a firebombing of a Belfast warehouse injured 13 people in what police described as a Provisional IRA blitz, breaking a three-month cease-fire. The attacks indicated the IRA has dropped the cease-fire called during a hunger strike by IRA inm ates who ended their protest fast at Christmas.
