Before The Dawn

From over the hills where tomorrow lies A paler grey comes into the skies And there through the trees Where the moon gleam ebbs Dew drops are bright on the spiders' webs And under the hedgerow and through the hay Small furry creatures prepare for the day And high in the trees Waits the morning thrush Poised to end the brightening hush Beyond the slopes where the sun will rise Pink cotton blossom fingers the skies And under the trees In the quiet I pray And thank my God for another day.
