More summer briefs; Using a voice to move a train

The local chapter of Telephone Pioneers of America in Kamploops, British Columbia, is working with a local school to help children with speaking problems.

One member, ken Vere, built a model railroad system (HO gauge, for train buffs) that operates only by voice commands. The shy or even speech-handicaped shool youngsters find that the thrill of getting the trains operating is all the motivation they need to start talking.

No mention was made -- sorry -- of a similar invention to get loquacious children to stopm talking!
