Bani-Sadr says boycott has upped import costs
| Bonn
Iranian President Abolhassan Bani- Sadr said Sunday in an interview with the West German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau that the American economic boycott had pushed up his country's import costs 20 to 25 percent. The United States, which imposed sanctions on Iran to try to bring the release of American hostages held there since Nov. 4, counted on bringing Iran to its knees by this winter, he said.
