Japan's world trade deficit widened sharply to $2 billion in april, mainly because of a soaring oil import bill, the Finance Ministry announced. the April deficit, on a customs clearance basis, was almost double the March deficit of $1 .08 billion, and it compared with a surplus of $394.91 million a year earlier.
