Pinto took blow, witness says in defense of Ford

The prosecution's reckless-homicide case against the Ford Motor Company has been dealt another blow. Nancy Ellen Fogo, head nurse at Elkhart General Hospital in 1978, told the court that the driver in the fatal crash, Judy Ulrich , told her that her Pinto was stopped when it was struck in the rear and burst into flames. Mrs. Fogo is the second hospital employee to testify that Miss Ulrich said the Pinto was moving and took a minor blow that should not have resulted in fire. Ford says the car was stopped and was hit at a speed that would make any car leak gasoline and catch fire.
