Saute onion and green pepper in skillet in butter. Remove and saute the ground beef until it loses its red color. Combine the two mixtures and add soup , water, corn, and seasonings. Sift dry ingredients together and add beaten egg. Add milk and melted butter or margarine. Cover meat mixture with topping. Bake in a 400 degree F. oven 20 minutes or until topping is browned. Oriental Hamburger Pie 1 pound ground beef 1 can (1 pound) Chinese vegetables 1 envelope (3/4 ounce) mushroom gravy mix 1 or 2 teaspoons soy sauce 1 frozen 8-or 9-inch pie shell, baked 1/2 Cup Chinese noodles
Cook beef in large skillet, stirring to crumble. Pour off excess fat. Measure liquid from vegetables. Add water to make 1 cup. Stir liquid, contents of gravy mix envelope, vegetables, and soy sauce into meat in skillet. HEat to boiling.
Spoon into pie shell. Sprinkle with Chinese noodles. Bake at 400 degrees F. for 10 to 15 minutes. In large mixing bowl combine egg, water, sauce, and salt. Add ground beef and bread crumbs and mix lightly. Pat into ungreased 9- inch pie plate. Roll out pastry to a 10-inch circle. Cut slits to let steam escape.
Arrange pastry over meat and fold edges under and crimp. Bake at 400 degrees F. 30 to 35 minutes. Cut cheese into wedges and arrange on top of hot pie. Return to oven and bake 5 minutes longer. Mix together hamburger, milk, crumbs, and salt. Put into 9-inch pie plate. Combine remaining ingredients and spread on top of meat mixture. Bake 25 minutes in 375 degrees F. oven. Chili-Biscuit Pie 1 pound ground beef 1/3 cup onion, chopped 1 tablespoon shortening 2 teaspoons chili powder 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1 cup canned tomatoes 1 cup drained kidney beans 1 recipe biscuit mix
Brown meat and onions in shortening. Add seasonings and tomatoes. Cover and simmer over low heat 15 minutes. Add kidney beans. Pour into greased 1 or 1 1/2 - quart baking dish or casserole. Mix biscuit dough according to directions and place biscuits on top of chili mixture. Bake in 425 degree F. oven 20 minutes or until golden.
