Several large department stores in New York, including Macy's and Barneys, have signed on to a 'customers' bill of rights' to try to address recent customer complaints of racial profiling by store employees or NYPD police.
On the final campaign day for both men, the spotlight fell heavily on Weiner. His wife, Huma Abedin, who stood by his side at the height of the scandal, was nowhere to be seen.
Criticism of the so-called Ground Zero Mosque -- a symbol of tolerance – is generating fear of Muslims. In reality, New York is home to 800,000 hard-working Muslims who help make it the greatest city on earth.

The New York Landmarks Preservation Commission voted unanimously not to stop the demolishing an existing building – clearing the way for the Ground Zero mosque.

A New York City community board has given approval to a plan that would build a mosque and cultural center near Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center twin towers destroyed on September 11, 2001.
