Great white sharks: Close encounters on East and West coasts (+video)

A great white shark followed a man in a kayak off Nauset Beach on Cape Cod Saturday. In Monterey Bay, near Santa Cruz, Calif, a great white shark attacked a kayak. There were no injuries in either attack.

Scores of weak and disoriented California brown pelicans have been slamming into cars and boats, landing on highways and airport runways, and turning up dead in back yards and parking lots many miles from their normal coastal habitats.
