Responding to the world's persecuted bloggers
Bloggers around the world are coming under increasing pressure for speaking out against their governments.
In Egypt, the detention of Alaa Abdel-Fatah and others who speak out against the policies of President Hosni Mubarak are drawing worldwide attention.
In China, censorship tools abound, and some fear the country will become a testing ground for filtering methods that can be exported to other countries.
In Iran, newspaper closures and imprisonment of journalists are common. Websites are blocked, and the people that run them are put in jail.
The US has already spoken out against Egyptian treatment of protesters. What more should be done to address government censorship and mistreatment of protesters in Egypt, China, Iran, and elsewhere?

How should the world community respond to censored and persecuted bloggers? What can everyday citizens do? How should the US respond?
