An endangered red-bellied cooter, one of 155 'headstarted' turtles released this spring by the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, takes to Great Quittacus Pond in Middleboro. This is the 20th year for the program, which has seen a six-fold increase in the adult cooter population.
