Ghanaian Parliamentary candidate Samia Nkrumah was a child in 1966 when her father, Ghana's first president, Kwame Nkrumah, was overthrown by a military coup and exiled. Recently returning to Ghana from her home in Italy, Samia Nkrumah is campaigning for a seat in Jomoro, the western district where her father was born. She also runs on her father's principles, she said, while standing in front of a monument to Kwame Nkrumah in Accra, Ghana on Oct. 13.
