Rahm Emanuel: President-elect Barack Obama asked Representative Rahm Emanuel to be his White House Chief of Staff. Mr. Emanuel, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, was a senior adviser to Bill Clinton, and is seen as first in line to take over for Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the House.
