The C.S. Monitor always seems to have such an intelligent and well informed readership. Or that's what I've always assumed. Its articles are often thought provoking. Why is it that only 4 of us are thinking about the current political issues and posting?

If you are one of those silent ones out there reading this message board I'd like to encourage you to jump in. No one will know who it is if you choose an alias. You don't have to worry about criticism from your neighbors. Everyone's opinion makes the conversation richer since it gives each of us an opportunity to look at things from a new angle. I've learned from the other contributors who see things from a different perspective than I do. Their life experience may be broader than mine.

In the American culture talking about religion and politics is taboo at parties. Now is a time to speak up and share the deep thoughts that are stirring around in your mind just waiting to be expressed.

All you have to do is register in the 'Messageboards' section picking whatever info about yourself you are willing to have others see, even if you just make it up. Maybe you were a school teacher for three months one summer. You can put down that you are a retired teacher if that makes you feel better about disguising yourself.

When you find a topic that you have an opinion about and are willing to share, just fill out the reply form at the bottom of the page and click 'send'. After a few seconds you'll see your words pop up in blue under the last person's post. Check it over. If you made a mistake you can click 'edit' and send it in again after you fix the boo-boo. Cute word, isn't it? I'm only mentioning the directions because I couldn't find any when I wanted to post and had to figure it out. Not all of us are tech savvy. (Can anyone tell me what the ‘karma’ symbol means? How about an 'RSS feed'? I'm totally clueless on that one too.)

Those of you who are really brave might even want to start a new topic. Go to the 'Patchwork Nation Forum' page and fill out the form under "New Topic in this Forum" and send in the post. Hint: It's okay if you are a Republican. Go for it!

    Hello, shadowsprite.

Just found this place. Not much for this kind of thing. The one at BBC has hundreds of replies, lots of them I would call "hate speech." This looks different. We'll see.

Regardless of who wins the presidency, the U.S. as we once knew her, is done! America will be run by foreigners. In fact, it's happening under our own eyes now and the American people don't even see it. It will come down to the survival of the fittest in the years ahead. Start preparing now!
