Happenings in El Mirage

Well I see the feud between Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama continues what a waste of time, and it hurts either candidate down the road.Don’t they understand the Karl Rove clones of the G.O.P. are just chomping at the bit to get started with their character assasination programs. I suspect this is going to be a real nasty ad campaign this election season. As far as I am concerned Sen. Clinton hurt herself (no pun intended) with her story about coming under sniper fire while in Bosnia few years back I say call it quits Senator and let’s get on with backing Sen. Obama. After all who needs to be in Iraq for another 100 yrs. This conclusions of mine were made after much discussion with quite a few friends of mine. Here in Maricopa County the big talk is the feud between Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon and America’s toughest sheriff (self proclaimed of course) Joe Arpaio on how to humanely handle the illegal immigration problem. In the court of public opinion Mayor Gordon is getting slammed pretty good which is to bad as he has done a very good job for the City of Phoenix. Well I have to sign off now.

It’s always a good idea to take all that election rhetoric with a giant grain of salt. For instance, your belief in the charge that McCain wants to keep fighting in Iraq for a hundred years. Please, everybody! Look around, check several news sources. Read this newspaper, for instance. Yes, Read.
Everything, Everything is more complicated than the screaming heads and spinning politicians want you to think it is. Outwit them all. And it wouldn’t hurt to give up the ugly partisan hatred, either. That’s just not worthy of us. Seems like partisanship has replaced racism as the hatred of choice in this country. The thing is: We don’t NEED a hatred of choice. We can disagree without trying to annihilate each other. Try it. Tell your friends. More important, offer respect and friendship to those you now consider to be enemies.
And, whoever wins, pray for his/her wisdom and safety. With the partisan hatred running so high, it’s a wonder we haven’t had an assassination in a long time.

I would like to know what the good people of El Mirage, AZ consider to be “the illegal immigration problem” and what that community sees as the solution.
Look forward to a good discussion.
PS Well said, Seth.
