Future journalism
By Jin Baumgartner
One of the great things about reading stories on the web is how easy it is to lookup information from the article that piques my interests. Perhaps I know little about a country that is being reported on; I just wikipedia the subject and before me is new knowledge to be gained. Now that the CSMonitor is focusing on Internet Journalism, I would like to see new and convenient ways to mine the depths of knowledge available on the web in relation to the article I\’m reading.
CSMonitor has a great reputation for providing more in-depth journalism than most news sources. I don’t come here for the latest updates, I come here for serious thought about current issues. A news organization’s source of money is important in determining which and how issues are reported. The future of journalism will include many outlets of news, but it will be the organizations financially supported out of altruism that can be relied upon for the most honest analysis of events.
