5. Hakimullah Mehsud

Hakimullah Mehsud is a Pakistani from South Waziristan. While not on the FBI’s most-wanted list, he is the leader of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan ( TTP) known as the Pakistan Taliban.

Hakimullah Mehsud is wanted for his alleged involvement in the December 30, 2009 bombing that killed seven and injured six on a United States military base located near the Afghan town of Khost, along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. He took credit for the 2010 attempted Times Square bombing.

In April 2010, he was believed to be killed in a drone attack, but it was later proved to be false.

On September 1, 2010, the United States added Mehsud to its list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists and the TTP to its list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

Pakistani intelligence officials reported that intercepted radio messages between militants indicated Mehsud was killed in a US drone airstrike on in January 2012. Pakistani Taliban spokesman, Asimullah Mehsud, denied claim. His name remains on the list of most wated terrorists and is believed to be in FATA.
