In the course of our journeys, we were humbled by the grace of those in dire circumstances – and who even welcomed our intrusion. In documenting their circumstances, our intent is to promote an awareness and awaken a compassion that leads to solutions. Even in the most war-ravaged places, we found glimmers of sober hope.

Not every image is somber, though. Some are celebrations or portraits of triumph. We trust you’ll find plenty of those in our work as well. Choosing the best is always daunting. Please consider this more as a sampler than a definitive collection.
