Now that the first College Football Playoff (CFP) poll of the season has been released, the stretch drive to the national championship game can begin. The poll results, announced Tuesday evening, have Clemson as the number one team in America, followed by LSU, Ohio State, Alabama, and Notre Dame.

Baylor, Michigan State, TCU, Iowa, and Florida round out the top ten on this week's CFP list.

As far as action on the field this weekend, there are some dandy games to look forward to.

Starting at noon Eastern time, North Carolina – who is 21st in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this week but not ranked in the CFP – plays host to Duke, which lost on that crazy, penalty-riddled – as it turned out – kickoff return to Miami last Saturday. You can watch the bitter rivals get together on ESPN2.

Also at noon, CFP 10th-ranked Florida will host Vanderbilt on ESPN.

Notre Dame, ranked No. 5 in the CFP poll, survived a tussle with Temple last week. They will take on Pittsburgh at noon on ABC.

No. 21 Northwestern plays host to Penn State at noon on ESPNU.

At 1 p.m. Eastern, Stanford, No. 11 this week in the CFP, travels to Boulder, Colorado, to meet the University of Colorado, a game you can see on the Pac-12 Network.

Then, at 3:30 p.m. Eastern, in the first big match-up of the day, CFP top-ranked Clemson and Florida State, ranked 16th in the CFP, will battle for supremacy in the ACC Atlantic Division. The Tigers and Seminoles will be broadcast on ABC.

Mississippi, ranked 18th in the CFP, hosts Arkansas, also at 3:30 p.m., on CBS.

No. 9 Iowa travels to Indiana to take on the Hoosiers in a game you can see on ESPN at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.

Michigan, No. 17 in the CFP poll, meets Rutgers, also at 3:30 p.m., on the Big Ten Network.

There's a big game in the Big 12 Conference between CFP 8th-ranked TCU and No. 14 Oklahoma State at Stillwater, Oklahoma. Fox will televise this game at 3:30 p.m.

No. 25 Houston plays host to Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

UCLA, ranked 25th in this week's poll, goes to Oregon State to face the Beavers. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Eastern.

Saturday night at 7 p.m. Eastern, No. 13 Memphis will take on Navy. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

Oklahoma, ranked 15th in both the CFP and AP polls, will meet Iowa State at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.

No. 7 Michigan State hits the road to Lincoln, Nebraska, to play the University of Nebraska, also at 7 p.m., on ESPN.

Utah is ranked 12th in the CFP poll. The Utes travel to Seattle to face Washington at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on Fox.

Also at 7:30 p.m., 19th-ranked Texas A&M hosts Auburn on the ESPN SEC Network.

Then, at 8 p.m. Eastern, perhaps the game of the year so far in the SEC: CFP No. 2 LSU goes to No. 4 Alabama. CBS will televise this showdown.

No. 3 Ohio State, still top-ranked in the AP poll, will host Minnesota at 8 p.m. on ABC
