5. In 2010 President Obama compromised with Republican lawmakers to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for high earners. Should people earning more the $200,000 be taxed more?

The wealthy have never paid their fair share in taxes. We should start raising their taxes now, and keep going in the future. There should never be tax cuts for the wealthy again, no matter how well the economy is doing.

What was Obama thinking? We should raise taxes on high earners right now. Our economy is still in crisis, and middle- and low-income families are still struggling. The rich just keep getting richer, and the poor just keep getting poorer.

With tea party Republicans controlling the House right now, a compromise was probably the right decision. Hopefully, Democrats will be able to raise tax rates on the rich in the future.

High earners deserve tax breaks. They worked for their money just as hard as middle-income earners, so why should they pay more in taxes? Plus, they're likely to reinvest that money back into business.

Herman Cain got it right with his 9-9-9-tax plan. Flat tax rates all around.
