For: In what could be interpreted as an attempt to discredit renter Ms. Halpin, real-estate broker Levy testified Thursday that Emanuel’s tenants demanded $100,000 to exit their lease early so Emanuel could move back home. Emanuel balked upon hearing the demand, Levy said, and told him he would give the Halpins $5,000 for each month they left early. They refused.

Against: Halpin was not given the opportunity to rebut Levy's allegation, because she has testified a day earlier.
