The winless St. Louis Rams acquired Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Lloyd from the Denver Broncos for a sixth round draft pick on Monday, adding a game-breaker to the National Football League's (NFL) lowest scoring offence.

Lloyd, who posted career highs for catches (77), yards (1,448) and touchdowns (11) last season, will be counted on to provide a spark for a Rams offense that is averaging just 9.8 points a game.

"He's got size, good hands, a polished route runner," Rams General Manager Billy Devaney said on the team's website. "He's got a knack for making the big play. We're going to put him in the mix and off we go."

Taken in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL draft, Lloyd has 19 catches for 283 yards this season but has yet to score a touchdown.

The Broncos get the Rams' sixth-round pick in 2012.
