Pawlenty is married to former Minnesota District Court judge Mary Anderson, with whom he has two daughters, Anna and Mara. Raised Roman Catholic, Pawlenty became an evangelical Christian when he married his wife and now attends an interdenominational church that’s part of the Baptist General Conference and the National Association of Evangelicals, giving him strategic access to a 30-million-strong, politically influential coalition.
