Gov. Deval Patrick, a democrat, Republican Charles Baker, independent Timothy Cahill, and Green-Rainbow Party candidate Jill Stein will debate Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Democrat Deval Patrick, Republican Charles Baker, independent Timothy Cahill and Green-Rainbow Party candidate Jill Stein meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. on WBZ-TV. The hour-long debate will be moderated by political analyst Jon Keller.
All the candidates are uncontested in next week's party primaries, and the debate offers the first live, televised forum as they seek to capture voters' attention leading up to the Nov. 2 general election.
At least four more debates are scheduled, on television and radio, in eastern and western Massachusetts. More are likely to be added.
The next debate will be Sept. 14, primary night, at 8 p.m. on WBZ-AM, followed by another at 9 a.m. Sept. 16 on WTKK-FM.
The governor's race in Massachusetts is one of 37 states with a gubernatorial seat at stake in the 2010 election.
