After thunderstorms

Summer is a time of frequent scattered thunderstorms. When your yard has been hit by a hard one, you'll want to add a few things to your to-do list afterward: Prune out broken branches on shrubs and trees; replace mulch that washed away; gently return tall flowers to an upright position and stake them carefully to hold them in position until they do it on their own; and retie vines and climbers that were blown from their supports.
