Holiday gift guide 2010: Four video games

We have four different video game ideas for you this holiday season. Everything from an early 20th century Western to a soft pink creature and a couple in between. If you decide to purchase a particular video game, you might consider using the link below the item and help the Monitor at the same time.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn

1. Red Dead Redemption ($59.99)

In 1911, the once-Wild West has little need for cowboys anymore. But former outlaw John Marston must ride back toward the tumbleweeds and six-shooters of his old life to hunt down his onetime gang mates and settle his weary conscience. Red Dead Redemption (for PS3 and Xbox 360) features much of what makes modern video games great: superlative graphics, amazing voice work, and a fleshed-out world that feels as if it will keep chugging along even after you've put down the controller.
