A meeting of computer or app developers who code a digital product in a certain amount of time (often a day or weekend).

An annual, international hacking competition, where computer hackers are asked to perform a variety of hacking feats (i.e. break into a government network, code a virus, fend off increasingly vicious malware).

When an entrepreneur is attempting to find the most valuable investor in a room, but ends up talking to a variety of less important investors (i.e. ‘hacks’) without any success.

When a product or venture fails, it's the moment when start-ups will cut up all paper materials related to said business as a spiritual cleanse to ready themselves for the next venture.
