Not far from Prague, fans gather each spring near the village of Doksy to reenact battles from J.R.R. Tolkien’s 1937 novel, ‘The Hobbit.’
Maddie Chambers, devoted fan of ‘The Lord of the Rings’, has designed a replica of the home of Frodo Baggins in his fictional town, the Shire. The model took her a year to construct.
This cast is of the so-called Hobbit skull discovered on the island of Flores in Indonesia in 2003. Scientists continue to argue over how to classify this piece and other skeletal remains found in the same location: do they represent a species distinct from Homo Sapiens, called ‘Homo Floresiensis’?
