LEGO have launched the biggest toy in the company's 74 year history – a 5922 piece model of the Taj Mahal. Only those over the age of 14 are recommended to tackle it because of the model's complexity.

German Graphic designer Stefan Sacherer has produced a line of celebrity portraits made completely from grayscale blocks. Sacherer has created the mosaics and is now taking orders from customers who want to see their photos in LEGO bricks - even creating his own software program to help design the stylish works. Lego for girls: The Lego Friends, a Lego product line designed for girls, is a big hit. The new Lego blocks boosted sales by 25 percent in 2012.
Lego's sales soared 25 percent last year thanks in part to its new series of building blocks designed for girls.
