French Courts Suspend Burkini Ban

A controversial ban on full-body burkini swimsuits has been suspended by France's top court. The ban sparked international debate. Some cities and towns in Frnace had banned the burkinis at beaches, at religious groups reacted, calling the ban illegal and discriminatory. An image of police circling a woman and demanding she take off her tunic, which wasn't even a swimsuit. A lawyer for the Human Rights League said the bans "violate fundamental liberties and they should be withdrawn."
