Cameroon's Benoit Assou Ekotto and Japan's Daisuke Matsui battle it out at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Looking for streaming video from the World Cup? Viewers in North America have at least two solid options for online World Cup action, including ESPN3 and Univision.

Late last week, we offered tips on how to watch the 2010 World Cup online. For many users, the best solution continues to be ESPN3, an online sports network that streams plenty of top events, from boxing to football. But watching the World Cup on ESPN3 means first cutting through some red tape, including relatively high system requirements and all sorts of regional blackouts.

Moreover, ESPN3 has only partnered with a limited range of internet service providers, and if you've got a Time Warner subscription, for instance, you won't be able to watch World Cup 2010 soccer on the site. (Comcast subscribers are in luck. Gooooooooal!) So being practical folks, we threw open the doors to our readers, and asked you to suggest your favorite (legal) sites.

And you delivered.

At least one reader suggested the Univision site. Univision, an American television network that screens Spanish-language content, carries a good portion of the World Cup games. The streaming video is crisp and – at least on our machine – arrived without a lot of hiccups. The major issue here, of course, is the language barrier. If you don't speak Spanish, you're going to have to be content to watch the pretty pictures.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of sites offering play-by-play updates on World Cup 2010 matches. It may not be streaming video, exactly, but it's a close second. Among our favorites is the FIFA site, which is running a great Twitter-like stream of World Cup 2010 news, and something called a "Matchcast," which relays the action from the field in close-to-real time.

As always, we want your help. If you've found a particularly awesome – and perfectly legal – way to watch the World Cup 2010 matches online, then drop us a line in the comments section, or find us on Twitter or Facebook. We will post the pertinent suggestions. Enjoy the match.
