Amid record frustration with Uncle Sam, what does the federal government do well?

A new ABC News/Washington shows bad news for Democrats. It also shows that voter dissatisfaction with the federal government has reached an 18-year high. With unemployment still hovering near 10 percent and partisanship in Washington at especially bitter levels, such frustration is not surprising. Still, it makes the Monitor's editorial board wonder, is there anything voters like about the federal government?
