At a restaurant or bar, the pretzels and nuts are for everybody – not a single individual.

Adrian Miller, a long time foodie from New York, has seen women slide pretzels and nuts off the bar and into plastic bags in their purse – and guys throw pretzels in their jacket pockets as they leave. “Many more women engage in this surreptitious act,” says Mr. Miller. "And that's after people at the bar had their hands in them.”
