This gift basket for dads, sold at the supermarket chain Safeway in 2009, includes gadgets, candy, and a magazine. Baskets make great Father’s Day gifts and can be themed to Dad's interests or filled with salty treats.

Flower and gift basket companies that traditionally rake it in on Mother’s Day have come up with some ideas for Dad, too. While Mom might be happy with a simple bouquet of flowers, appropriate Father's Day gifts might revolve around snacks, preferably the salty variety, especially if they’re fishing- or sports-themed. 1-800-FLOWERS has one Father’s Day gift under $25: candy bar pretzels. At OhNuts.com, $25 will buy Dad a basketball, soccer ball, or football bowl of nuts. (Also in the Father’s Day basket section: pistachios in a Christmas-tree bag. But hey, for $15.95 for a pound a half, you can pass them off as any old evergreen.)
