Is Disney adapting 'Winnie the Pooh' as a live-action film? (+video)

The studio has recently adapted its animated films 'Cinderella' and 'Sleeping Beauty' as live-action movies.

Disney is adapting another of its animated films into a live-action movie, but this one involves animals.

According to Deadline, Disney is planning a live-action version of “Winnie the Pooh,” which is based on the characters created by author A.A. Milne. “Listen Up Philip” director and writer Alex Ross Perry has been brought on board for the project to adapt a script, according to Deadline, and the new movie will center on the child Christopher Robin as an adult.

A new animated version of “Pooh” was released in 2011. Meanwhile, Disney’s other recent live-action adaptations of their animated films include this year’s “Cinderella” and the 2014 movie “Maleficent,” which was a retelling of “Sleeping Beauty.” Both are box office successes.
