And while the technology may be new, the winning app was for a book that’s been with the literary world for quite some time: Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged.”

In addition to an unabridged version of the story, the “Atlas Shrugged” app includes some of Rand’s lectures, additional articles for further reading on Rand and her philosophies, a timeline of events in Rand’s life as well as the works she published, and other materials.

The app is $14.99 through iTunes.

Held from Jan. 23 to Jan. 25 in New York this year, the Digital Book World Conference aims to provide book publishers updates on the evolving industry and tips on how to use the most recent technology.
