Reader recommendation: At Night We Walk in Circles
Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.
I'm reading At Night We Walk in Circles, the new novel by Daniel Alarcón. I liked his earlier novel, "Lost City Radio," so turned to this one, too. The story takes place among three men in an acting troupe traveling into the hinterland of a country much like Peru. Each of the characters has a back story, as does the narrator. (Who is he, and why does he care?) The dichotomy between art and life, between reality and performance is rendered in vivid prose.Skip to next paragraph
