Reader recommendation: Open and Shut

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

By Dianne Lanning, Hayward, Calif. / April 17, 2013

Currently I am re-reading detective novel Open and Shut by David Rosenfelt. I have read the print version, but now I am listening to the audiobook edition. It's even better! It takes place in northern New Jersey and it's wonderful to hear the book read by someone who can capture the accent and style of the main character. I thought it was funny, poignant, and exciting in print, but in the audio version, the narrator, G. Gardener, adds a whole dimension of that has me caught up completely!
