Reader recommendation: Quiet

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

By Ellen Herr Awe, Wichita, Kans. / November 20, 2012

I'm reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain. It's comforting to know that it's okay to be an introvert in a world that seems friendlier to the extrovert. This book contains a wealth of information and helpful insight into the two different personality types. I'm recommending it to my teaching colleagues and friends who interact with kids every day. We need to nurture and give space to the introverts in our classrooms and homes.
