I just read A Secret Gift by Ted Gup. The generosity that prompted the gift of $5 each to 150 families in need in 1933 touched my heart.  And I can only imagine the writer's great joy upon finding that the anonymous donor was his own grandfather.  And not only that, to be able finally to solve the family "mystery."  How very appropriate for an investigative reporter!
