The title Road to Valor: A True Story of World War II Italy, the Nazis, and the Cyclist Who Inspired a Nation synopsizes Aili and Andres McConnon’s 2012 book, which I read during this year's Tour de France. But the descriptions in this well-researched and story of Gino Bartali, cycling champion and courageous war hero, are inspiring to discover anytime.
