Ben Fountain’s novel Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk is social commentary on the Iraq war as it plays out in the hearts and minds of the eight surviving members of Bravo Squad while they are the guests of honor at a football halftime show. The story is entertaining, thought provoking, and insightful.
