I am re-reading Edward Hoagland's Sex and the River Styx, a collection of his wonderful essays, built around a theme of observing human nature and the natural world through the lens one's life – from aging to understanding the blessings which we all share. I wanted to re-read this before I tackled his new book on Alaska.
